The best yarn shop in Pärnu

Last weekend I was in Pärnu. And of course I visited my favourite yarn store Woolmint. They sell quality yarns so it’s not easy to make a decision what to buy especially when you are not looking yarn for a certain project.

I love that Woolmint shares rooms with cafe Kookon. So you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee anda a cake while thinking which yarn to buy and what else do you need 🙂

With my children helping me to choose I ended up with 2 skeins of Koigu KPPPM, Scheepjes Linen soft and digital row counter.

Red lace shawl

Some years ago I knitted this shawl for myself. I couldn’t find a pattern that I liked for this yarn so I deigned it myself. The edging pattern is from Haapsalu scarf book.

The funny thing with this shawl is that when I finished it I realised that it’s not for me.  I just didn’t feel right. I still like it and it’s beautiful and everything… but it’s not mine. Have you ever felt that way after finishing a knitting project.

I still don’t know who is the right owner for this. So I put it for sale in Etsy 😀 Maybe this shawl will find it’s owner there.

Maple leaves scarf pattern

A year ago I designed a new lace scarf pattern inspired by colourful maple leaves. I used about 120 g Aade Lõng Artistic 8/2 and 3,5 mm (US 4) needles.

I really enjoy knitting this kind woolen lace scarves. It’s pretty quick, compared to Haapsalu Scarf (if you don’t mess up with reading chart). And in our climate those scarves are very practical too.

This pattern is available in Ravelry and in my Etsy shop.

Midsummer Meadow dress

My favourite place for searching knitting patterns is I like to look around there even if I have no intend to start a new project. But sometimes I found so amazing pattern that I just have to start knitting something new. This is exactly what happened when I saw this pattern – Meadsummer Meadow by Heidi Atwood-Reeves. It’s part of an e-book including two more dress patterns for girls. I’m still looking forward for the third one.

Here is Meadsummer Meadow dress for my daughter. I used 3,5 mm (US 4) needles. About the yarn I don’t know, I got it from a friend with no label. But it seems like Garnstudio DROPS Muskat.

Cardigan with leaves

I found a nice baby yarn online Laines du Nord Baby Milk (70% merino, 30% milk fiber). I still wonder how it is possible to get fiber from milk. But I love the yarn. It’s very soft and good for baby knits.

I have already made a hat from this to my daughter. this time I knitted a cargigan.

Pattern is Cascade by Raya Budrevich (free Ravelry download 🙂 ) And I really can’t remember the neelde size I used.

Only problem with this cardigan is finding the button holes.
